Alabama soccer continues to propel itself up in the rankings. The team is now a unanimous No. 2 in the three major collegiate soccer polls.

The team is now 13-1-1 and is riding a nine game winning streak. The only time Alabama lost a match was on Aug. 21 when they fell to Miami on the road 0-1. Miami is 4-6-2 on the season.

Alabama continued its hot streak with two convincing wins this past week. The Crimson Tide defeated No. 20 Ole Miss at home 4-1 and shutout LSU in Baton Rouge 5-0 this past Sunday. The wins moved Alabama up to No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches, Top Drawer Soccer and the College Soccer News polls. Previously the Crimson Tide was ranked No. 4 or No. 5 by these polls.

This has already been a historic season for the Crimson Tide soccer team. Prior to this year the highest ranking the team had ever received was No. 11.

With the win against LSU on Sunday, graduate goalkeeper McKinley Crone became the winningest player in Alabama history. The Maitland, Florida native has now picked up 31 wins in a Crimson uniform.

This upcoming weekend is alumni weekend for the team. Alabama will have a top-10 matchup as the team will host No. 7 Arkansas. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Alabama will try to chase down the undefeated UCLA Bruins (13-0-0) for the No. 1 ranking. The team has four more regular season matches before SEC tournament play begins on Oct. 31.

The NCAA tournament will begin on Nov. 11 with the style much akin to March Madness during basketball season. The field will consists of 64 teams with 31 conference champions that automatically qualify. Alabama has never advanced past the first round in the NCAA tournament.

If the team continues to play like they have so far, a magical season could be brewing at the Capstone.
