NFL teams across the country are making post-draft decisions filling out their personal for the upcoming 2021 season. The Houston Texans have decided to bring in two former Alabama safeties in on a tryout basis, Shyheim Carter and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Aaron Wilson initially reported that Carter would be brought into rookie minicamp on a tryout. Carter signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent last season but did not make their team and opted instead to help coach at The Capstone as a graduate assistant.

Wilson also reported that the Texans are brining in Ha Ha Clinton-Dix into the rookie minicamp to try out. Clinton-Dix is a six-year NFL veteran but did not play last season as he was cut by the Dallas Cowboys in training camp.

Carter accumulated 100 tackles during his time at Alabama with three interceptions, two forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns. He has yet to record a statistic last season, he notably was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list by the New York Jets prior to him being released.

Clinton-Dix is a one-time Pro Bowler and earned Second Team All-Pro in 2016. In his NFL career he has tallied 522 tackles, 33 passes deflected, 16 interceptions, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one defensive touchdown. He's seen time with the Green Bay Packers, Washington Football Team and Chicago Bears.

The three day minicamp will be an opportunity for the players to show their skills to the Texans and ideally earn a contract for the 2021 season. The camp will occur over the weekend and conclude on Sunday.
