Want to Be an Uber Driver? The Popular Ride Sharing App Is Hosting In-Person Application Assistance Tuesday and Wednesday at Embassy Suites
Applying to be an Uber driver just got infinitely easier! They're offering in-person application assistance this week at Embassy Suites in Tuscaloosa.
Uber will be in town tomorrow (Tuesday, August 2, 2016) and Wednesday (August 3, 2016). Applicants will be able to receive assistance from the Uber team from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The popular ride sharing app is FINALLY coming to Tuscaloosa after receiving approval from the Tuscaloosa City Council in June. Uber is currently preparing for its yet-to-be-announced launch date and accepting applications for drivers (which, BTW, Uber refers to as 'Partners').
I applied to be an Uber Partner a few weeks ago (because Christmas presents ain't gonna pay for themselves if you know what I mean), and I received a text about the event at Embassy Suites a few minutes ago; I wanted to pass along the information to y'all.
Want to be an Uber Partner? You have to be age 21 or older with at least 3 years of driving experience and at least one year of driving experience in the United States. You'll also need to pass a background check and have a clean driving record; DUI's, criminal convictions, and driving violations will prevent you from becoming an Uber Partner.
Uber Partners are also required to have an iPhone 5 or newer OR an Android phone operating running Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) or newer. Your car must be a four door model 2004 or newer.
If you're planning to apply in person, you'll need to bring your driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, and your current vehicle registration.
