What’s Up with the New Fall Flavors at Steel City Pops in Tuscaloosa?
Have you seen the new flavors at Steel City Pops yet? Their fall lineup includes flavors like Carrot Cake, Cashew Butter, and Smoked Fig with Cheese--and they're just as delicious as they sound!
I stopped by Steel City Pops last night after having dinner with my family at Glorybound Gyro Co; we walked a few blocks down to Steel City so I could buy my daughter a special treat. I was hoping that they'd have my all-time fave (your girl is a ride-or-die Cherry Sour Cream fan), and although my go-to wasn't on the menu, I was surprised by Steel City's newest offerings.
Check out those pops, y'all! Cinnamon Apple? Pumpkin? Smoked Fig with Cheese? Carrot Cake? MAPLE BACON?
I wanted a dozen of each. The girl behind the counter helped me FINALLY make a selection; she said the Carrot Cake was her favorite, so I ordered one.
Oh man, y'all. It was SO. DANG. GOOD. It was creamy and rich and tasted just like Carrot Cake. The popsicle has a very smooth consistency (no chunks of cake, carrots, or raisins) and seriously tastes JUST LIKE Carrot Cake!
My husband had the Smoked Fig with Cheese (it was stupid good), and my daughter ordered the Cinnamon Apple. (*Sidenote: I was super proud of her because she read "apple" on the menu ALL BY HERSELF. She's four, and seeing her reading makes me one proud momma.)
Steel City Pops has decorated the store for fall, too! They've painted pumpkins and other gourds bright white and displayed them throughout the main dining room. Check out the super cool way they've suspended these gourds from the ceiling!
I'm a huge fan of Steel City Pops, and TBH, I really only thought of popsicles as a summer treat--until our visit last night! The new fall menu is awesome, and TRUST ME when I say that I'll be coming back to try every one.
