Then and Now, Britney Spears in the Flashback Friday Spotlight
This B101.7 Flashback Friday we shine the spotlight on Britney Spears. We take a look at her debut back in October of 1998 to current day new music.
By the late 90s, Britney Spears already built a name for herself with young viewers of the Mickey Mouse Club. The Louisiana native teamed with Swedish writer Max Martin, who had wrote hits for NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys.
Britney made her splash on the music world in October 1998 with her debut release, '...Baby One More Time.' This would mark the beginning of world-wide success.
As Song Facts points out, "MTV played the video, but it was the internet that gave her the most traction, as teenage girls and guys of all ages logged into their AOL accounts and typed some variation of "Britney Spears" into Alta Vista to see more of the starlet."
