The lead singer of Frightened Rabbit has died. Scott Hutchison was just 36 years old.

Hutchison had went missing in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and BBC news reports authorities have confirmed a body found on the banks of Scotland's Firth of Forth is that of Hutchison.

I am absolutely devastated this morning. I love Frightened Rabbit, and so many of Scott's lyrics resonated with me on a deeply personal level, as I have had my own battle with mental illness. He wrote from the heart, penning songs about struggling with depression and thoughts of self-harm. It just guts me to know that he's gone.

There's one song I just can't stop thinking about-- "Floating in the Forth." It's from Frightened Rabbit's second album, Midnight Organ Fight, and it's almost surreal how closely these lyrics foreshadow the end of Scott's life.

My heart is broken today. Please know that if you, too, are struggling with thoughts of self-harm, there are always people who care and want you to get through it. You can call (800) 273-8255 to speak with the National Suicide Prevention team 24/7.
