I would like to state before I start ranting:

I've skated my who life, got my first board when I was 7 and haven't stopped since.

Skating should never be a team sport or ever be controlled by large corporations trying to squeeze a few bucks out of it.

With that being said, Nike just released the 2020 Olympic skate teams uniforms yesterday. I'm absolutely disgusted.

Skating is solely about expressing yourself, if its from Mike Vallley's handplants, Jaws Homoki's massive airdrops, or Chad Muska's shoes that a little compartment for your weed. Skating is supposed to be one's own, if its from your stance, style, how you push and even what you wear. What the Olympic and many other organizations are doing to skating is a shame. They are corporate-tising a sport that doesn't want to be and doesn't need to be.

I could go on and on about how this issue has been plaguing skating for the past 40 years, but I wont. Here's a video that'll do it for me.

Lastly, let's talk about the skating uniforms.. It's funny.. Because I never heard skating and the word uniform in the same sentence. Well, the shirt is simply a soccer jersey with red, blue and white splashed on it with a US logo slapped on the front, thanks Nike. With the worst shade of brown on the cargo pants.

I'm kinda pissed, but it's awesome that skating will have the platform to be in the Olympics for the first time and bringing awareness to the sport.
