My Vote for Most Annoying Summer Insect Pest: Horse Fly

Ah, summertime fun. But, when enjoying the great outdoors in Alabama, we unfortunately have to share it with annoying PESTS!

Most bugs are no biggie to me. But, those GIANT horse flies are different. Bad. When those things bite, man, it stings. I’ve had horse fly bites on my arm before and it becomes itchy and swells a little. I can deal with it. Well, late yesterday afternoon, one attacked my face! I thought it wasn’t that big of a deal, until I dried off after a shower. Whoa! I looked like a squirrel storing nuts with my puffed up cheek. Wouldn’t that make for a more awkward selfie than Geraldo’s? Ha!

Anyway, I headed out to the store for something to calm this bite down. I warned the cashier about my bite making my face red and puffy. It's funny how we feel so inclined to explain stuff like that to complete strangers. I’m sure she would have been able to figure it out by my purchases. But, I had to make everything crystal clear. She laughed. Great weekend drama!

Yes, the swelling went down. All is good. But, I'm not a fan of the horse fly.
