Life as a New Mom: The Best Birthday

Today is the day: my baby is ONE YEAR OLD!I spent all last night looking at pictures we've taken in this first year. I watched videos; I giggled. I smiled. I cried.

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by, and I can't believe the heartache I feel looking at pictures of my teeny tiny preemie princess. I don't know how to explain it. I'll let Don Draper help me out--this clip of Don's pitch for Kodak's 'Carousel' photo slide system explains the pain of nostalgia perfectly.

If you need me, I'll be over here crying like an idiot. Then I'll be hugging my sweet baby. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I love her more each day.
