The now Miami Dolphins quarterback left behind an undeniably strong legacy here in Tuscaloosa. Tua Tagovailoa is one of the most revered and well liked players in the history of the program, and it is easy to see why.

Tagovailoa changed the narrative for what a Nick Saban Alabama quarterback, and to an even greater extent, a Nick Saban Alabama offense should like like.

He opened the door for Steve Sarkisian to be able to open up the offense in a way that we have simply never seen at the University of Alabama.

Throughout the Saban era, Alabama football has been defined by toughness, physicality, and beating teams with a very strong run game and defense. Tagovailoa allowed Alabama to start dominating teams in the pass game and paved the way for an offense like we saw in 2020 with Mac Jones at the helm.

Not only this, but the new offensive approach at Alabama has allowed the coaching staff to land recruits such as Bryce Young, Jalen Milroe, and Ty Simpson. Recruits see tangible evidence that Alabama is a place for elite quarterback talent, and this really is all thanks to Tua Tagovailoa.

Here at Tide 100.9, we want to wish Tua the happiest of birthdays, as well as wish him nothing but success in his upcoming second season in the NFL.
