Large Bear Caught On West Alabama Families Security Camera
This bear issue is getting too close for my comfort.
Just yesterday, a warning was issued and reported by us, that black bears had pretty much taken over Alabama. OK, that's a little drastic, I admit.
That wasn't the warning, the warning is linked above.
However, it seems like more and more folks here in West Alabama are reporting bears near their homes and property.
I spoke with a family living in Sumter County, Alabama about the picture they got on their camera system.
It was taken at just before 4:00am, a couple nights ago.
The owner of the house told me that he woke up after hearing noises outside the house.
He checked the camera system after this and that's when he saw the black bear in their yard.
That photo is below.
According to the National Park Service, black bears are historically native throughout the entire state of Alabama.
However, due to over-harvest and habitat degradation, black bears were nearly extirpated from the great state of Alabama.
Black bears are willing to eat just about anything they can find.
Of course, they tell you to never leave food for bears as they will come back again and again.
Who would do this by the way?
What kind of idiot would want bears coming to their house over and over again? Maybe it's just me that finds this to be really stupid behavior.
Just be careful and aware that they are getting very close to homes in our area of late.
I know I would prefer to NOT be part of their "eat just about anything" dinner.
