18-Year-Old in McCalla Charged with Assault for Friday Shooting
A young man in McCalla has been arrested and charged with felony assault after he allegedly shot another man there Friday.
According to new court documents filed Monday, deputies with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on Westhaven Lane in McCalla around 6:15 p.m. last Friday, April 12th, on reports of a shooting.
Deputies reportedly found a 21-year-old male with two gunshot wounds in one of his legs.
Witnesses reportedly told police that 18-year-old Robert Easterling, who lives in McCalla, was responsible for the shooting.
Easterling was questioned, and court documents say he admitted to shooting the victim.
The teenager was charged with first-degree assault, a Class B felony, and booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, He has since been released on a $30,000 bond and his mugshot was not publicly available at the time this report was written,
