8th-Grade Metal Band Lands $1.7 Million Recording Deal

When I was 13, I felt pretty good about scoring a dance with a hot girl at the 8th-grade dance. 13 year-olds Malcolm Brickhouse and Alec Atkinsd, along with 12 year-old Jarad Dawkins, have scored something much bigger!

The metal trio from Brooklyn, NY known as 'Unlocking the Truth' have just singed a 2-year recording deal. The deal is with SONY and is reportedly worth up $1.7 million, as reported by the New York Daily News. This comes on the heels of their 'Unlocking the Truth Tour.' A tour that has put them in front of huge crowds at Coachella and opening for Guns 'N Roses. Can you say amazing?!

Notes shared in Rolling Stone says a studio version of "Monster" will be coming out soon, and their debut album should be ready to released this fall.
