Who Knew I’d Find My Inner Child at CHOM?
Who Knew I’d Find My Inner Child at CHOM?”
Since moving to Alabama, my wife has been worried about getting our son out to meet other babies and play around. We found a great place but who knew that adults could enjoy this place too?!
All week my wife has been excited because she finally found an activity to get our son involved in the community. It turns out that she enrolled him in a music class at the Children's Hands-On Museum of Tuscaloosa. At first, I didn't believe it would all work out because I've been to the museum multiple times and it always looks deserted. The day had finally come and it was obvious who the most excited person was in the bunch. I'll give you a hint, she gave birth to our son.
Our son loves music so it only made sense that he would enjoy this class. Rule number 1 when you're a parent, NOTHING goes exactly how you plan it with kids.
He didn't hate the class, he just didn't find the music interesting lol. My son is used to hearing the new Drake songs and hearing marching band music. He was more interested in meeting the other kids in the class. Due to COVID-19, we had to reluctantly keep him away from others.
After music class, we went to the basement and enjoyed the different playrooms. He milked a cow, went down a slide, and even beat on some drums. The whole time I had to look over my shoulder to make sure I wasn't having more fun than my son. the static electricity ball, the cow milking, and the scavenger hunt kept me locked in. I felt like a big kid! Of course, the museum is for kids, but who says daddy can't have fun too?!

Thanks to mom for finding that class for our son. Up next on mom's schedule is gymnastics. I'm both excited and nervous about this one. I'll start stretching now.
