Alabama fans looking for an alternative to the busy quad on gamedays will have just that when the Crimson Tide opens its home schedule against Western Kentucky on Saturday.

The University of Alabama created a new family-friendly tailgate area on the north side of campus to provide an atmosphere conducive to parents and children. The zone will be located at the corner of Hackberry Lane and Campus Drive, which is part of the Bryce property, and alcohol will be strictly prohibited.

Fans can use the entrance into Bryce as a loading and unloading zone. Tailgate spots will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis but won't cost fans anything.

The university will also be relocating the inflatables that are usually on the Quad two blocks north to this new family-friendly area.

Fans are also encouraged to use the Crimson Ride shuttle that will take fans to and from the game for free.
