Two Treehouses Opening Soon at Red Mountain Park

I feel like a kid again, ready to climb up the new treehouses at Red Mountain Park. Yeah, let's go climb and explore!! It opens June 7th.

I'll be honest, when I first saw this story, I immediately thought Oak Mountain State Park. Sure, thinking maybe Red Mountain Park is part of Oak Mountain or some kind of typo. I Google it and what do you know, there is a completely different park that I have never known about. It's in Birmingham and it's hilly with tons of trails . Wow, it's starting to feel like Christmas morning.

Today, more than a generation removed from the closing of the last ore mine on its slope, Red Mountain is the site of one of the most ambitious, exciting and historically significant new park projects in America. Currently, the Park contains 7 visitor destinations within an 11-mile trail system open for hiking and biking:
