Tuscaloosa Police Confirm Kangaroo We Have Exclusive Photo
Alabama is slowly becoming the wild kingdom.
We have received confirmation from Animal Control Investigator Martha Lindsey Hocutt, that yes the rumor of a “ Roo “ running loose is true!
Yes, you did read that correctly, we have a kangaroo running amuck in Tuscaloosa County.
Where has this kangaroo been spotted exactly?
Northport, this is where it has been spotted recently.
Yes, the lovely town of Northport has its own kangaroo just hopping around and eluding local authorities.
I would have never imagined a kangaroo running loose in my backyard! Yet here I am writing about it.
Phil Duke was just sitting in his yard with his wife Jill enjoying the glorious Alabama sunshine. When she looked up she spotted the marsupial in her yard with a deer. Just hanging out back like it was their playground.
Luckily we have the picture to prove it!
Authorities are trying to catch this kangaroo and are asking if anyone has information as to who the owners may be to please let them know. Originally people believed that this kangaroo escaped from the local exotic zoo, this information is incorrect, this is not their kangaroo.
I mean it’s not like it swam here from its native country…but it did go for a swim in Lake Tuscaloosa. Yes, this kangaroo took a dip in Lake Tuscaloosa.
So back to the question at hand…who has a kangaroo as a pet?
Not only should we be concerned with our already long list of creatures to be aware of, we now have to add a kangaroo to this list!
I know that this guy is cute and people will want to pet him, but authorities are asking that we don’t pet the kangaroo that’s romping around Northport.
Kangaroos can be very dangerous so please do not attempt to approach the marsupial.
Ok, I promise I will try to not pet him!
They are asking if you spot him to call 205-393-6056 or Tuscaloosa County Animal Control.
