Tuscaloosa Man Charged with Attempted Murder
A Tuscaloosa man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting late last (Sunday, October 20, 2019) night.
According to a press release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit, officers responded to a call of a shooting at approximately 11:00 p.m. last night in the 3200 block of Moody Street. Responding units arrived to find a 34-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Officers located and arrested 21-year-old Chartavius Jamal Martin in connection with the shooting. Subsequent investigation revealed Martin and the victim were in an argument, and then Martin fired his gun two to three times at the victim, striking him once.
Martin was placed into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on an attempted murder charge. His bail was set for $60,000.
