The first time I heard Train's "Play That Song", I knew that I had heard the melody somewhere before, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.......UNTIL I sat down at a piano a couple days later and realized that I already knew how to PLAY that song. It was the song that every kid learns to play in kindergarten the first time they sit at a piano, "Heart And Soul", (written by Hoagy Carmichael and Frank Loesser). In fact, a lot of folks don't even know the official title of the song, but they sure know the melody. Check it out......

Now, after I discovered that Train had "borrowed" the melody, I thought they were trying to pull a Sam Smith, or a Robin Thicke, and not give proper credit to the original composers of "Heart And Soul". However, it turns out that Train asked for permission FIRST, got the OK from the composers estates, and even give them a proper writing credit for "Play That Song", so props to Train for doing it RIGHT! With that all said, I have to admit that I like the song anyway, so it's all GOOD.

And in case you haven't seen it, here's the video of Train's "Play That Song".....Enjoy!
