Thor Love and Thunder writer, Jason Aaron, proves himself to be a passionate Alabama football fan by claiming to take "some joy" in destroying an Oklahoma town in the comics as a result of the Crimson Tide's 2014 Sugar Bowl loss to the Sooners.

Aaron was right in saying that Alabama was "thrashed" by Oklahoma in the game, with the Tide losing 45-31, a margin of defeat that Tide fans aren't used to seeing.

It didn't help that the Tide left a bitter taste in their fans mouth by losing the game prior to Auburn, courtesy of the infamous "Kick Six," which in turn lost Alabama the chance to compete in the SEC Championship, the BCS National Championship, and the opportunity to "three-peat" as national champions.

Alabama has since avenged that double-digit loss to Oklahoma by beating the Sooners by double-digits themselves, 45-34, in the 2018 Orange Bowl to advance to the College Football National Championship.

Aaron is a well known fan of Alabama football, which comes as no surprise since he was born and raised in the state, attending and graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Unlike most fans though, he is sometimes able to let his sports fandom be leaked into his work for the whole world to see.

Another example of Aaron being a passionate and vocal Alabama fan is a year after Alabama's Sugar Bowl loss to Oklahoma when he put Ohio State on notice before their matchup against the Tide in the 2015 Sugar Bowl, even using the threat of possibly finding a way to destroy one of their state's cities in the comics like he did Oklahoma.

Alabama unfortunately lost that Sugar Bowl as well, 42-35, and Ohio State went on to win the national championship.

Fortunately, for the Crimson Tide, they were able to avenge that loss too, beating the Buckeyes in the 2021 CFP National Championship game, 52-24, to secure the school's eighteenth national championship and third in the CFP era. They were also able to avenge their Sugar Bowl losing streak as well, beating Clemson in the 2018 Sugar Bowl.
