You will want to dust off your old Nikon or make sure there's plenty of room for pics on your phone, as a wild weather phenomenon could set the stage for especially vivid sunrises and sunsets across the southeastern United States next week.

What's going on?

A giant mass of dry, dusty air from the Sahara and other African deserts is making its way to North America. It will create the opportunity for beautiful sunrises and sunsets next week, and it will also eliminate the possibility of any tropical storm formation. Check out the video from ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist James Spann below.

Wow. I can't say that I have ever experienced anything like this in my lifetime, so I will admit I am pretty hype to see how this mass of dust can create a beautiful sunrise. Everything I have read so far says the dust that's arriving via trade winds produces vivid red and orange hues in both the sunrise and sunset, and I can't wait to see what's in store for us--and our Instagram feeds!
