T.S. Police Support League Presents $25,000 Endowment to Stillman College
Students in Greene County who are interested in obtaining a college education may be eligible to receive funding as part of an art scholarship offered at Stillman College.
Our daily reports that Shelia Smith and Billy McFarland Jr. presented Stillman President Cynthia Warrick with $25,000 to be used to endow an art scholarship for a student from Greene County.
It was presented by the T.S. Police Support League, of which Smith is president. The endowment was presented in memory of her late husband, Thomas Clinton Smith, who chose to move to Eutaw after retiring from his fashion design business in New York City. There in Greene County, Tom helped to teach area children about art. So, the endowment is befitting. Source.
The T.S. Police Support League raises money for law enforcement, education, children's programs, the arts, and more. It is one of the organizations which receives funding from the Palace Bingo.
The bingo hall gives a portion of its earnings to charity. The T.S. Police Support League is one of the beneficiaries of that funding and is proving that the money is going to a good cause.
