T-Mobile Adds Step to 205 Callers

If you're a T-Mobile customer in the 205 area code, you may want to review the numbers in your contacts, as new changes will take place beginning October 12.

Currently, customers in the 205 area code may dial another number in the same area code without including the 205 prefix. All of that changes next month.

Apparently, the traditional 205 area will soon include a new area code, which is 659. It is said that this is necessary to ensure a continuing supply of telephone numbers. Therefore, a "local" call may not be able to be completed without using the area code, as there may be a phone number using seven of the same digits but with a different area code.
