Monday, August 9th, The University of Alabama announced that they will not only offer a reward for students who get vaccinated, but they've doubled the original reward.

It was previously announced that students who get vaccinated would receive $20 in Bama Cash. In a post on Instagram, the university announced that the reward is now $40. The caption announced that the deadline is approaching to claim the reward for vaccination.

"If you haven’t already, let us know you’ve been vaccinated before 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, to receive your $40 Bama Cash reward. If you’ve already submitted your proof of vaccination, you don’t need to do anything else. You will automatically receive an additional $20 in Bama Cash.

To get the $40 reward, you must upload proof of vaccination, even if you reported your vaccination before any reward was announced or if you received your vaccine from the Student Health Center or University Medical Center."

I know $40 may not seem like a lot of money but as a former broke college student, I understand how far that can go. That is at least 2 meals worth of Bama Cash. I've also noticed that a lot of area restaurants accept Bama Cash so it's not like the options are limited. That $40 could come in very handy for lots of students.

The University of Alabama also announced vaccine clinics on August 14th and 21st for their students, faculty, and staff from 10 am to 2 pm.
