‘South Park’ Season 20 Reboots the National Anthem in First Clip
It’s hard to believe South Park will kick off its 20th year as early as this Wednesday, and given the famous six-day turnaround, our first details only now arrive. South Park will “Member Berries” by rebooting the national anthem in this week’s season premiere, the first clip of which you can watch right now.
Even as South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have suggested Season 20 won’t spend too much time on Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, the first clip still keeps an election focus. As the synopsis below suggests, Mr. Garrison is still on the campaign trail, while the recent National Anthem controversy will also end up in the spotlight:
Garrison is still on the campaign trail in the season premiere of “South Park” titled “Member Berries” on Wednesday, September 14 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.
In the premiere episode, the National Anthem gets a reboot by an American Icon.
We can at least expect South Park Season 20 to keep the serialized approach developed over the last few years, but will the two-decade anniversary be an easy victory lap for the series?
