Sources Say Saban Has Returned to Practice

Alabama football head coach Nick Saban was supposedly back at practice Thursday, according to sources close to the team.

Ryan Fowler broke the news on Twitter and on his daily radio show, The Game on Tide 100.9, saying he heard Saban had returned to practice after recovering from COVID-19. The Alabama Football program announced that Saban contracted the virus last week, causing him to miss the Nov. 28 Iron Bowl. Offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian was at the helm for the annual game against the Auburn Tigers, which the Crimson Tide won 42-13.

There has been no official confirmation from Saban, Alabama Athletics or the university regarding his return. Whether he will be on the sidelines in Death Valley this weekend as Alabama faces LSU on the road remains to be seen.

Last week, Saban divulged that he was only experiencing light sinus issues and was not feeling "anything of significance" when asked about his symptoms. The coach even went so far as to make appearances via video chat before and after the game last weekend.

At the tail end of his recovery, Saban assures that he's feeling just fine.

"I'm going to be back shortly," he said during a Dec. 2 press conference. "It's a medical decision [of] when I can come back. I'll be totally 100% with the team so, that's something that's going to happen in the very near future."
