A new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey reveals 4 out of 10 American homes have ditched the land line and have opted to go cellphone only for their home phone calls.

Even though the number continues to increase, the rate of change is slowing, according to the report. If someone just outright asked me, what percentage of homes are cellphone only? I would probably say 60%. So, that makes me way off and surprised the current count is 40%. But, I get why it would be below half of the homes. Sure, there are plenty of cases to keep the land line. Such as, cable/phone package deals. Then, there are people who live in rural areas who have limited cellphone strength. They would need it. People with measured minutes on their cellphone. Plus, there are still plenty of others who just prefer to have that corded phone option.

Let's do a quick poll for Tuscaloosa. Tell us if your home is cellphone only or not from the voting options below.
