Monitoring the Potential for Severe Weather in Alabama on Thursday
A few days ago, we were in the middle of wall-to-wall coverage during Wednesday's dangerous severe weather threat. There were multiple tornadoes, damaging winds, hail, and flooding that took place. Now we are monitoring the potential for severe weather on Thursday for all of Central Alabama.
I know we just started severe weather season, but it appears we are off to a full swing. We are always monitoring weather conditions for our area to keep you informed of any possible severe weather. The National Weather Service in Birmingham has given us a heads-up for Thursday with a Hazardous Weather Outlook. “A strong storm system could bring a potential for damaging winds and tornadoes Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.”
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist noted on Facebook that “strong storms are likely Thursday afternoon and Thursday night... a little too early to determine the magnitude of the severe weather threat.”
We will continue to monitor the possibility of severe weather for Thursday. As weather information develops, we will be sure to update you so you have ample time to prepare.
