Meteorologist James Spann Coming to Tuscaloosa For Book Signing Saturday

Alabama weatherman James Spann will be at Just Love Coffee cafe in downtown Tuscaloosa this Saturday for a book signing.

Spann is the author of three books -- Weathering Life, All You Can Do Is Pray and Benny and Chipper: Prepared... Not Scared.

In an interview with the Thread about the event, Spann said he enjoys these events because he gets to talk with people and hear their stories.

"Everyone has a story," he said, "Sometimes people just need to tell their stories, and I love to hear every single one."

Spann, the state's most ubiquitous forecaster, is the chief meteorologist for Birmingham's ABC 33/40 and for Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa.

Spann said the people of Tuscaloosa are special to him, as he moved to the city in the fifth grade with his mother.

"Tuscaloosa is a special place to me," he said, "we were broke and hurting and they made us feel welcome."

The book signing is this Saturday, September 17th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Just Love Coffee in downtown Tuscaloosa at 2531 University Boulevard Suite 100.
