I need my fix at least once a week. And no doubt Chinese food is an American passion. But how authentic is the Chinese food we select? PopCrush.com and Business Insider have provided some eye-opening facts.

Sesame or Orange Chicken: Actually order Peking Duck to eat as authentic as possible. And skip the General Tso’s chicken if you’re going for authentic.
Dumpling: Shrimp Dumpling Soup is the real deal, not Wonton Soup says Business Insider. Hot and Sour soup for me.
Egg Foo Young: Created in the United States as a way to use scraps says HuffPo.
Fortune Cookies: Forget about it. All American.
The bottom line is order what you like best. But now you know that what you like best might be American and not authentic Chinese food. Even if you use chopsticks.
