The Alabama Crimson Tide brand is world wide. That includes the soccer version.

The Alabama soccer team will have one current and two former players competing in the CONCACAF Gold Cup as freshman forward Kennedy Garcia will represent Puerto Rico and alums Riley Tanner and Reyna Reyas will compete for Panama and Mexico, respectively.

The Tournament will feature 15 teams from North, South and Central America and the Caribbean. Garcia and Puerto Rico will open competition on Saturday, Feb. 17, against Haiti in the Preliminary Round, while Mexico opens Group Stage play on Tuesday, Feb. 20, against Argentina. Panama begins group play against Columbia on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

Kennedy Garcia, Puerto Rico

Reyna Reyes, Mexico

  • First Alabama player selected in the first round of the NWSL draft, being picked fifth by the Portland Thorns FC
  • Selected as a 2022 Honda Award finalist and MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist
  • A 2022 United Soccer Coaches All-American first team honoree
  • Named the 2022 SEC Defender of the Year
  • Three-Time First Team All-SEC selection
  • Two-time USC All-Region first team recipient and two-time third-team honoree
  • Named to the 2022 College Cup All-Tournament Team
  • Anchored the Crimson Tide backline to program records in shutouts (12) and wins (23) in 2022
  • Scored 16 goals and tallied five assists over her career for 37 points

Riley Tanner, Panama

  • Helped lead Panama to its first-ever World Cup appearance in 2023
