The action was fast and furious on the gridirons of West Alabama under the Friday Night Lights. Here's a look at how some key area games came out.

A region title was on the line as Tuscaloosa Academy hosted the Blue Devils of Sulligent. To the victor went the spoils: TA won it, 21-14.

Tuscaloosa County traveled to the hornet's nest know as Thompson and the Wildcats left with a 39-0 loss.

Over on Patriot Parkway, Hillcrest hosted Paul Bryant and the home team won big, 60-13.

ACA and quarterback Kai Young traveled to face LJ Cormier and the Bears of Sipsey Valley. Final: ACA 51, Bears 29.

It was Aliceville 44 Winston County 42 in a wild one.

Pickens County won at  Hubbertville, 39-15.

Hueytown dropped Northridge, 45-14.

Montevallo mashed Holt, 42-12.

West Blocton beat Hale County ***.

Central went to Bessemer City and the Falcons fell 28-21.

Holy Spirit got a win! The Saints beat Brilliant 35-26.

McAdory defeated Brookwood 42-6.

Dora dumped Northside 41-27.

Tuccaloosa Christian beat Victory in  Columbus Thursday 56-38.

Gordo rallied over Oakman 35-19 to win the region.

Springwood beat North River Christian 49-30.

Winfield held off Fayette County 28-24.

And, in metro Birmingham Spain Park upset Hewitt-Trussville 50-29.

Northside took down the No. 1 team in Class 4A, beating the Gordo Greenwave 14-12.
