Granted, it was an exhibition. Still, the Alabama women's basketball team gave visiting UAH a "beatdown in T-Town" the Chargers won't soon forget.

Eleven Crimson Tide players played. All eleven scored. Final: Alabama 82, UAH 32.

Tide Head Coach Kristy Curry did not release any quotes as is commonly the case after exhibition games in any UA sport.

Clearly, the Crimson Tide dominated on both ends of the Coleman Coliseum floor. Bama held the Chargers to but 14 points in the second half while all 11 UA players on the roster recorded at least one bucket.

Alabama made its defensive presence known the entire game, forcing 24 turnovers while grabbing 13 steals and posting 10 blocks on the night. UA forward Essence Cody led the charge with a game high five swats of Charger shots.

The Tide also won the battle on the boards, outrebounding UAH 50-32, including 19 of which were on the offensive glass.

Aaliyah Nye led Alabama with 16 points and three steals. Nye also knocked down a game-high three 3-point field goals in the victory. The Tide had two others finish in double digits behind Nye, including Sarah Ashlee Barker (13 points, seven rebounds) and Loyal McQueen (12 points, two assists).

Barker is the daughter of former Crimson Tide quarterback Jay Barker.

The Tide women's team will open its regular season Monday at home as part of a doubleheader with the men's squad. The ladies tip at 4:30 at Coleman against Alabama State. The men will then face Morehead State at 7 CT.
