Cristobal Could Be Aiming For Northern Gulf Coast

Here is a late afternoon update on Tropical Storm Cristobal.  At the time of this story, Cristobal is bringing the threat to the Northern Gulf Coast for this weekend.

Current Overview of Cristobal

  • It is now a tropical depression but expected to gain strength and show be a tropical storm by Friday night or Saturday morning.
  • It is spinning over eastern Mexico with heavy rain and life-threatening flooding, along with mudslides in Mexico and Central America. Also, to high surf and high winds.
  • It is still tracking towards the Gulf Coast and tracking to emerge into the Gulf of Mexico late Friday.
  • It will track towards the northern Gulf Coast by Sunday.
  • The expected landfall range is between the upper Texas coasts to the Mississippi Coast.

Here is the weekend forecast for our area:

Saturday – High near 90 with a slight chance of showers transitioning into showers in thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Saturday Night will be mostly cloudy with a low near 71.

Sunday – There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with mostly cloudy skies with a high 88.
