The November election is fast approaching.  That means the deadline for registering to vote is coming up very soon.  You might not remember if you are already registered to vote.  It’s best to check your status now.

It’s pretty easy to check to see if you are registered to vote.  Click here to check your status with Alabama Votes.  I did it and took me 27 seconds.  That’s the truth because I even timed it with the stopwatch.

If you find out that you are not registered to vote.  Be sure you registered before the deadline which is October 19, 2020.  You can even register to vote online!  Talk about simple.  Click here to register to vote.  According to Alabama Votes, “to submit an application to register to vote, you must meet the following requirements:”

  • You must be a citizen of the United States.
  • You must live in the State of Alabama.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day.
  • You must not be barred from voting by reason of a disqualifying felony conviction.
  • You must not have been judged "mentally incompetent" in a court of law.

I encourage you to be prepared this election season.  Also, if you need information on your polling, click here.  All you need to input is your residential location.  Then you can know your polling place in advance.
