The Alabama women’s basketball team looks to pick up its third straight win on Thursday as the Crimson Tide faces No. 8 LSU on the road Thursday night.

“LSU presents an awful lot of challenges from their experience to their chemistry,” said Alabama head coach Kristy Curry. “They have a lot of returnees that are fifth-year players and you can definitely tell that the experiences that they’ve had, they’re certainly wanting to make the most of this year.”

LSU (23-4, 11-3 SEC) is coming off a 66-61 home win over No. 15 Florida.

In Kim Mulkey’s first season at the helm, the Tigers are back in the top-10 for the first time in 13 years. Mulkey has also gained large crowds this season, setting Alabama up for a hostile environment in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

“Kim is doing a great job, they’re feeding off her energy playing with a lot of swag and confidence and it’ll be a great challenge for us in front of a hostile environment on their senior day,” said Curry.

In SEC play, the Tigers are led in scoring by Khayla Pointer (20.4), Alexis Morris (18.5), and Faustine Aifuwa (10.8). Aifuwa leads the team in rebounds per game (7.1) in conference action.

LSU currently leads the conference in free-throw attempts (554), free-throws made (367), and scoring offense (75.3).

Alabama (14-11, 5-9 SEC) is coming off a 81-79 double-overtime road win over Texas A&M.

In SEC play, the Tide is led in scoring by Brittany Davis (17.8), Megan Abrams (13.5), and JaMya Mingo-Young (11.9). Davis and Mingo-Young are tied for the team lead in rebounds per game in conference action (6.9).

Tipoff this evening is at 7:00 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
