The forecast called for only a few snowflakes and possibly a dusting of accumulation on grassy areas. There wasn't supposed to be any problems on the roadways. It was going to be issue south of us in places like Montgomery and even coastal locations like Mobile. That was the word, even early this morning. Then, it changed.

Our area ended up getting socked with snowfall and the scramble was on! Schools dismissing students and workers all around town getting out early. Everyone hitting the road at once. Then, add to it, the roads quickly became slick and one accident after another piled up as drivers lost control of their cars. The result pure gridlock. Many drivers just abandoned their vehicle and headed for warm shelter.
