Alabama Basketball Plans To Honor “Fluff” On Opening Night
It's been over 200 days since the tragic passing of Bama sports super fan Cameron Luke Ratliff. This season, Alabama basketball plans to honor his memory on opening night.
The Alabama Crimson Tide is set to kickoff their basketball season on Tuesday November 9th with a double-header. In between games, there will be a tribute to former president of Crimson chaos Cameron Luke Ratliff.
The tribute will happen at approximately 7:40pm.
Cameron Luke Ratliff was commonly known as "Fluffopotamus" or "Fluff." He was known for cheering on Alabama sports while wearing his signature plaid jacket. After the tribute at the season's opening game, there will be a presentation of a plaid jacket being given to the new Crimson Chaos president. This will be a tradition that will continue to happen in Ratliff's honor.
Not only is it great that the program is honoring Fluff during the season opener, but the crowd should be packed.
It was announced on Twitter than Alabama fans set an all time high with season tickets being sold. That's huge!
On April 2nd, 2021, Alabama basketball superfan, Cameron Luke Ratliff, has reportedly passed away after being intubated this evening facing complications with COVID-19. Ratliff is largely credited with revitalizing the Crimson Tide student section at Alabama home games during his tenure as a student.
It's no question that the Alabama Crimson Tide community will be missing Fluff all season long and thereafter. We continue to pray for the family and friends of Cameron Luke Ratliff.
