Will 2013 Be A ‘Lucky’ Year?

Here we go into 2013 which I hope will be a lucky year for us considering the unlucky 13 and all. I joked about the unlucky label the number 13 gets and how our society treats it. Just look at hotels, there is no 13th floor. Then, if a Friday lands on the 13th day of the month, look out!

Oddly enough, when I returned from visiting family over the holidays I noticed (on New Year’s Day) my internet modem failed... and... my water heater failed. Have you ever tried taking an ice cold winter shower? Well, I can check that off my bucket list. I must have dropped the bar of soap 7 times trying rush through that frigid experience. Being a stubborn do-it-yourself guy, I still think I'll fix it myself when I get more time this weekend. Then, there were the days of exposure to a nasty storm of swirling germs from my nieces, I thought I had it beat. January 1, 2013, the day for it to kick me in the face! I have piles of tissue to prove it! C'mon man, bad luck on the first hours of the year 2013. What is even odder, I had already set a goal, a resolution, to look at things in a more positive light. Hmm, is this some kind of sign? The year of the black cat? Nope, it's just a coincidence and I'm sticking with it, as I am Mr. Greg POSITIVE THOUGHTS Thomas! Stuff just happens, we all know that, but what about this timing from joking about superstition to choking in it. Crazy.
