Who Vandalized One of Tuscaloosa’s Oldest Cemeteries?
Fences were broken and headstones destroyed last weekend when someone drove through Tuscaloosa's Greenwood Cemetery.WBRC Fox 6 News reports the cemetery suffered major damage as a result of this cruel act of vandalism. Two fences were broken by someone who drove what appears to be a truck through the cemetery, knocking over several tombstones.
Tire tracks and broken headlight pieces litter the cemetery which is the final resting place for many of Tuscaloosa's oldest residents. Greenwood Cemetery dates back to the 1820's, and white, African-American, and Native American Tuscaloosans are buried there.
Anyone with information about who may have carries out this heinous act is asked to contact the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
