A recent search on which kitchen items should never be put in the dishwasher, has also led to me an odd list of what we could wash. Yeah, every day household and personal items. It's surprising to see the list, but makes perfect sense.

I like when things are listed out.  So, let's start with the NO list. Items you should never put in your Dishwasher as by Reviewed.com:

  • Cast iron
  • Wood
  • China and delicate glassware
  • Insulated travel mugs
  • Knives
  • Plastic
  • Aluminum
  • Stainless steel
  • Teflon
Now, the YES list of oddball household items safe for the dishwasher.  The list makes sense, but it's stuff I've never thought about using a dishwasher to clean.
Don't laugh, but my man search on dishwasher tips landed on Woman's Day.  Yeah, it did and yeah, I'm about to quote it.  Sure, here is the list:
  • Glass globes from light fixtures
  • Shower heads and faucet handles
  • Baseball hats.  I thrown in washing machine with clothes, but never thought dishwasher.
  • Combs, brushes, clips and my favorite pink barrettes.  Ha!  I joke.  Make funny.  Sounding like caveman.  Me tough guy.  Back off or I'll kick your butt!  Okay, did I reclaim my manhood yet??  The list moves on...
  • Personal care items like your toothbrush.  Yeah, your toothbrush.  I would fear it would taste like a basket of lemons afterwards.
  • Plastic toys.  The small baby toys that haven been chewed on.
  • Dog bowls and toys.
  • Kitchen sponges and brushes.
  • Kitchen appliance parts.  chrome drip pans, enamel-coated gas grates and burner caps, fridge water dispenser grate, sink plugs, microwave tray and range hood grease filters.
Your dishwasher sure could be a time saver from all kinds of scrubbing.  Thanks   It's not just for plates and glasses.
