Simpson is the latest five-star quarterback to join the Crimson Tide, and does so with very high expectations. Hailing from Martin, TN, Simpson played high school football at Westview and absolutely dominated in his senior season, crushing every team on the schedule en route to a state title.
247Sports' Cooper Petagna likens Simpson to Matt Corral, highlighting not only the two players' similar builds, but Simpson's propensity for improvisation when the play breaks down.
In his senior season alone at Westview, Simpson passed for nearly 3,000 yards and threw 44 touchdowns as well as rushing for over 1,200 yards and scoring 15 times on the ground.
The early enrollee has yet to secure an NIL deal for himself since joining the team in December, but now has an excellent opportunity having joined the collective.
High Tide Traditions is a third-party organization not affiliated with the University of Alabama or the football program directly, but is working to connect Crimson Tide athletes with businesses and various NIL opportunities.
Simpson is the third player to join in just its first week of operation, so expect to see many more Alabama athletes signing on with the collective in the future.
