Tuscaloosa Man Robbed, Shot in His Own Home
A Tuscaloosa man is being treated at DCH Regional Medical Center after robbers knocked on his door, stole his money and shot him in his own home Wednesday night.
Captain Gary Hood, the Commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said the 57-year-old victim was in the living room of his home on 29th Avenue when someone knocked on his door around 11:30 Wednesday night.
The man told investigators that he opened the door to find two black men who asked him for a cigarette before pulling a gun and demanding money. The victim said he handed over some cash and was shot anyway.
Hood said the victim is in stable condition and the case is pending further investigation.
