Earlier Today while I was running errands, I was driving on 3rd Avenue East. As I looked over on 38th Place, I noticed smoke coming from an Apartment Building located at 401 38th Place East.. The Building was ON FIRE! So, I turned on the street to take a look.

The Tuscaloosa Fire & Rescue Department & The Tuscaloosa Police Department were already on the scene. (There's a Fire Station on Skyland about a mile away). There were at least 5 Fire Trucks there. The neighbors were already out on the street watching the building burn. Fortunately, It appered that everyone had gotten out of the burning building safely.

What's ironic is that earlier this year, the apartment NEXT to this building, (415 38th Place East), caught fire.

In any event, I rolled a little bit of video to capture what I witnessed. This also reminded me that now would be a good time to change the batteries in they smoke detectors at my own home.

If you haven't done so lately, now might be a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detector as well.

Stay Safe and Have A Great Weekend!
