Tua Tagovailoa is expected to miss the rest of the college football season after suffering a dislocated right hip late in the first half against Mississippi State. Tagovailoa was carted off the field with three minutes left in game in visible pain. After the game he was taken via helicopter to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Birmingham Alabama.

Tagovailoa finished the game completing 14/18 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns.  Prior to the injury Tagovailoa was considered a lock to be the number one quarterback taken in the 2020 NFL Draft. Should he forgo his final season and declare for the draft, Tagovailoa will finish first in passing touchdowns at Alabama with 85 and third in passing yards with 7,186. Alabama team surgeon Dr. Lyle Cain released a statement on the status of Tagovailoa.
