The Dallas-based entertainment venue Topgolf is expanding locations and could be moving into the state of Alabama for the first time.

The company announced on Wednesday that it's searching for new locations in smaller and mid-size markets to build new golf facilities. Among the list of candidates is Huntsville, Alabama. Topgolf currently has two locations in Atlanta and another one coming in Nashville, but there aren't many other options for anyone in Alabama looking to enjoy the unique golf experience.

Topgolf uses microchips to track every golf ball hit on its driving range and patrons can play a variety of games while aiming for different targets. The big appeal for Topgolf is the ability to enjoy food and drinks in a lounge-style setting. The venues boast multiple bars, three levels of golf bays, and hundreds of HDTVs.

Along with Huntsville, the company is considering New Orleans and Baton Rouge, La.; northwest Arkansas; Providence, R.I.; Ft. Myers/Naples, Fla.; Greenville, S.C.; Albuquerque, N.M.; McAllen and El Paso, Texas and more.
