The movie trailer is just as much of the movie watching experience as popcorn. According to The Hollywood Reporter, owners of the theaters say the trailers are too long and want to make them shorter with new proposed guidelines the movie making people. The current voluntary guidelines with the studios has a cap on a trailer set at 2 and half minutes. The theater owners want it cut to cap at 2 minutes.

I don't really think the 30 seconds makes that big difference to me personally, especially if the trailer is interesting. But, it's the fact that there are soooo many trailers played back to back before the movie starts which gets people like me restless. The only time I really appreciate 20 minutes of trailers is when we're getting to the movie late and you still want to buy popcorn!

What do you think? Should there be a new 2 minute cap mandated on movie trailers? Or, do you think the current voluntary 2 and half minutes is fine? Maybe you're like me and you think there are too many trailers played in a row?
