This has become a regular drill for us over the past week and it's not about to end, school closings and delays due to the threat of dangerous winter weather. We've compiled a list of schools around the Tuscaloosa and West Alabama area announcing start delays for Tuesday.

More winter weather threats to start the week around Tuscaloosa and West Alabama. We're under a Winter Weather Advisory tonight. Also active is a Winter Storm Watch for Wednesday, where we could possibly see significant snow accumulation.

Another round of wintry precipitation is in the forecast this week; Tuesday could bring sleet, freezing rain, and snow, while Wednesday could bring significant snowfall for North and Central Alabama.

Many counties around West Alabama, including Tuscaloosa are under winter weather related advisories overnight. This has led to some area schools to announce delayed openings for Monday.

Tuscaloosa and West Alabama has been issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Friday (February 20). Due to this weather threat we are receiving notice of schools who have decided to dismiss early today.

We're under Hard Freeze Warning through 10am Thursday (Feb.19). This extreme cold weather around Tuscaloosa and West Alabama has led to several school delays.

The National Weather Service Office in Birmingham has sent out a Civil Emergency Message at the request of the individual Alabama county Emergency Management Agencies across the area. The message warns drivers of potential dangerous icy roads and bridges.

Area schools have decided to delay the start of school due to the threat of overnight icing in the area. Cold air is pushing into the area following a rainy day. There is concern of wet roads and bridges freezing.
