This has become a regular drill for us over the past week and it's not about to end, school closings and delays due to the threat of dangerous winter weather. We've compiled a list of schools around the Tuscaloosa and West Alabama area announcing start delays for Tuesday.

School Delays for Tuesday (February 24, 2015):

Bibb County Schools: 2hr delay
Fayette Christian Academy: Opens at 10am
Fayette County Schools: 3hr delay
Gadsden City Schools: 3hr delay
Greene County Schools: 2hr delay
Hale County Schools: 2 hr delay
Holy Spirit Tuscaloosa: 2hr delay
Lamar County Schools: Start at 11am; staff report at 10:30am
Pickens County Schools: 3hr delay
Shelton State Community College: Delayed until 11am
Tuscaloosa City Schools: 2 hour delay, no breakfast served.
Tuscaloosa County Schools: 2 hour delay; central office employees report at 9 a.m.
UAB: Classes, campus operations start at 9:30am
University of Alabama: Employees report at 10am, classes start at 11am

What is causing this? We're under a Winter Weather Advisory during the overnight for the threat for accumulating ice or snow/ice mix on the roads.
