Sterling K. Brown Wins Outstanding Lead Actor in Drama at the 2017 Emmys
The 2017 Emmy Awards have brought us one of our biggest wins yet. After winning in another category last year, Sterling K. Brown has taken home another statue for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for This Is Us.
First and foremost, second-time Emmy-Winner Brown thanked his fellow nominees, marveling that Walter White, Dick Whitman and Detective Frank Pembleton have all held the award before. After thanking his cast for “the best white TV family a brother has ever had,” Brown kept going all through the broadcast’s attempts to play him off, eventually leaving when producers cut the mic and dimmed the lights.
Brown beat out a tough Emmy 2017 lineup that included Anthony Hopkins of Westworld, Milo Ventimiglia of This Is Us, Liev Schreiber of Ray Donovan, Bob Odenkirk of Better Call Saul, Matthew Rhys of The Americans and House of Cards star Kevin Spacey. Last year, Rami Malek of Mr. Robot made a surprise debut victory.
Well, did Sterling K. Brown deserve the win? Who got snubbed? Be sure to check out our master list of tonight’s winners, and stay tuned for more from the 2017 Emmy Awards!
